EnSight Technologies to Deliver Parking Guidance for Connecticut DOT’s New Stamford Parking Garage
Real-time wayfinding to serve commuters at the Stamford Transportation Center
San Diego, CA (May 20th, 2026) — EnSight Technologies has been chosen to deliver a vision-based parking occupancy management and guidance system for the new Stamford Parking Garage in Stamford, Connecticut, a Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) project located adjacent to the Stamford Transportation Center.
The deployment brings high-accuracy and real-time vehicle counting to the multi-level structure, supporting a smoother arrival and exit experience for daily commuters, rail passengers, and visitors moving through one of Connecticut’s busiest transit hubs.
At the core of the system is EnSight’s camera-based counting technology, paired with proprietary deep-learning software to capture occupancy on every level. Count data is pushed directly to existing LED signage at the garage entrance and at each ramp transition point, helping drivers quickly find available parking without circling. The system also includes 112 single-space sensors covering each ADA and EV charging stall in the garage, giving operators stall-level visibility into the facility’s most in-demand specialty spaces. By leveraging the existing signage infrastructure, EnSight is able to deliver a streamlined solution that limits new hardware on-site while still providing the accuracy and visibility needed to keep traffic moving.
For garage operators, the EnSightful Portal will offer a single cloud-based dashboard for live occupancy monitoring, level-by-level utilization reporting, and ongoing truthing reports that show real-time accuracy for each counted level. Through the EnSight Connect open API, the system is built to integrate cleanly with the broader parking and revenue infrastructure at the facility.
“Transit hubs, like the one in Stamford, are some of the most demanding parking environments out there. You have high turnover, high expectations, and very little room for guesswork,” said Chris Scheppmann, Managing Member of EnSight Technologies. “Our vision-based approach lets the team at Stamford get the accuracy and visibility they need without overbuilding the hardware footprint. That’s a win for both the agency and the people who park there every day.”
The Stamford Parking Garage project reflects a growing trend among public agencies and transportation authorities looking for smarter, lower-infrastructure approaches to parking management. By combining accurate camera-based counts, dynamic guidance signage, and a centralized platform, EnSight gives operators a better understanding into how their facilities are used while making it easier for the people who park there every day.
